Core and Support Facilities


LAR

Responsible for providing housing and support for research and teaching animals. We are committed to assuring the well-being of experimental animals while providing services that enable researchers to collect quality data to further their research goals.


CPL

The Central Procedures Laboratory (CPL) is a research support service center which provides surgical, procedural, and technical support to facilitate your research needs.


SEU

The Swine Education Unit (SEU) is located a few miles south of the NCSU CVM campus. This facility houses 350 sows and is fully equipped for breeding, gestation, farrowing, nursery, and growing-finishing.


TAU

The TAU is a dynamic teaching lab for veterinary students to learn husbandry, production management, and routine procedures used in livestock production. Students are able to observe and work with normal animals in a real farm setting.


Flow Clore

Provides instrumentation and assistance with multi-parameter flow cytometry analysis and cell sorting


Histology Core

The Cell Services & Histology Core provides a full range of histology services, encompassing routine and specialized grossing, tissue processing, paraffin embedding, microtomy, H&E and special staining, and immunohistochemistry. Consultations are also available.


Genomic Sciences Laboratory

The mission of GSL is to enable discovery in the biological sciences by providing researchers and students with the necessary cutting-edge equipment and infrastructure required to conduct advanced genomics research.


UNC CGIBD Cores

The Center for Gastrointestinal Biology and Disease offers a range of services to Center members and outside investigators.


NCSU CCTRP

Performs scientific research on the structure and function of skin focused on transdermal drug delivery, cutaneous toxicology, metabolism and pharmacokinetics employing innovative animal models and other pharmacokinetic research.
